James specialises in the administration of estates (testate and intestate), wills, trusts, powers of attorney and elderly client affairs. He enjoys the personal contact with clients identifying their legal needs and arranging their affairs to their satisfaction.
For over 35 years James has advised and assisted individuals in changing periods of their lives, helping them to address circumstances often foreign to them and to plan for their future.

Having graduated from Leeds University James trained in South West London and was admitted as a Solicitor in 1979. In joining Pitmans Southampton office in February 2016 James is pleased to return to the Hampshire south coast where has spent most of his working life, for many years specialising in Private Family law but for the last fifteen years specialising in Probate, Wills and Elderly Client affairs.
James is active in his local community being a member of Rotary, a deputy church warden and Chair of his local Churches Together organisation. He has been known to “tread the boards” and enjoys attending live theatrical and music events. When not in the office James likes to be out of doors as much as possible and is an enthusiastic gardener and walker when family demands allow.
