Advocacy legal advice from Pitmans, the Thames Valley's leading law firm, with offices in Reading and the City of London
Pitmans' specialist legal advice:We communicate our clients’ arguments to their best effect, whether in writing or orally. From the well-crafted letter of claim which brings resolution at the earliest possible stage, to submissions made to the Court at a final hearing, we represent our clients wherever they need an expert voice to speak convincingly on their behalf.
Who our Advocacy lawyers act for:We have acted for private individuals, multi-national corporations and everyone in between. We are instructed where representation by the firm is cost-effective for our client. When it is not we use our experience to arrange appropriate representation from external providers.
Pitmans' legal expertise:The unit is headed by a solicitor-advocate who originally trained at the Bar and has ten years experience of written and spoken advocacy. He has rights of audience to Court of Appeal level, and sits on the committee of the Solicitors Association of Higher Court Advocates. He has particular experience in urgent interim applications, including injunctions.
We also have a number of more junior personnel, able to deal cost-effectively with hearings at local Courts even at short notice.
Pitmans' specialist customer service:In addition to general advocacy representation, which we offer clients for attendances at mediation, trial or in other proceedings where that is in the client’s best interests, we also offer the following specialised services:
Urgent interim applications – where it is important to get the issue considered by a Judge at short notice (for example in media disputes where publication is imminent)
Fixed fee attendance at small claims trials in local courts.
Agency services – acting on behalf of other firms who do not have local advocacy capability, or who do not have the capacity to deploy advocates with higher rights of audience.
Pitmans' solicitors deliver astute legal advice:The manner in which a case is presented, and the arguments deployed, at trial, can make or break a case. Bringing advocacy provision in-house enables Pitmans to provide a high level of continuity of service and consistency. It is another element of our full-service offering, and a part of our commitment to do all that is humanly possible on our clients’ behalf. Request legal advice from Pitmans Advocacy Unit team:
